I received feedback from players who sometimes organize little ‘Mystic Mine Tournaments’ among their friends. But in the current multiplayer game you only see the scores of the last game. A totals score board would be a great help to keep track of who won the most games etc. This way you can see at the end who the ultimate Mystic Miner is . I’ll keep you updated on the progress of this new version, and will definitely let you know when it becomes available.

Mystic Mine is a true party video game. All you need is the computer that you are using now. Each round lasts a few minutes, and all players can participate until the very end. After the round is finished, anyone can join or leave the game. After releasing the gameplay preview video, several people noticed that the game was probably controlled with only one button. Mystic Mine is indeed a so called “single-switch” game, but it can also be played using the mouse.

The menu system can be navigated with only 3 buttons: a select, next and exit button. And when holding the select key for a few seconds, the “one button” mode is enabled, and the menu can be controlled using a single switch. Of course other keys, mouse or joystick/joypad can be used, but they are not mandatory.

The family friendly nature of this game makes it suitable for all ages. The difficulty of the game adapts to your skill, making sure everyone will enjoy. More than 200 levels can be played with different missions and powerups, creating unlimited hours of fun. The missions include picking up coins, bringing diamonds to tunnels, racing to flags, etc. Various pickups modify the car behavior: a balloon makes it go up but not down, a ghost allows it to move through everything, … . To successfully play Mystic Mine, you will have to navigate through these impossible labyrinths, which will be quite a challenge.

Remember those old arcade games? Plenty of them used isometric tiles to build up the levels. But impossible figures or optic illusions were considered a bad side effect. In those days they didn’t exploit this to give the player a whole new experience.
Thanks to the popularity of mobile devices, old arcade techniques are being reused. Koen Witters, the founder of Koonsolo, programmed plenty of mobile games, when he realized that the disadvantage of isometric tiles was really an opportunity. Being a fan of impossible objects and the works of M.C.Escher, he wanted to create such a cool game. And so Mystic Mine was born.
Mystic Mine puts those old 2D techniques back on the map. In an age where 3D is considered superior to 2D, it’s great to have a game using a 2D concept, impossible to represent in a 3D environment.

Koonsolo is a small independent game development studio committed to create games that are original, amazing, and most of all, games that provide pure carefree fun.

Koonsolo was founded in 2006 by Koen Witters, who has been creating games for fun as long as he can remember. It first started out by inventing board games, and after playing Commodore 64 and those early arcade games, he was completely sold on this new form of entertainment. At the age of 14 he learned how to program, with only one goal in mind: to create computer games.

After receiving his Master’s degree in Computer Science, he started working as a professional game programmer.
